IAKC Academic Scholarship

PURPOSE:

India Association of Kansas City Academic achievement award is a prestigious award to recognize prospective high school students with exemplary academic aptitude and leadership activities. The overall purpose of the award is to recognize the scholastic achievements, and the student’s philanthropic goals making a positive impact to the community and beyond.

Two qualified students of Indian origin living in the Kansas City metropolitan area will receive the academic awards. The application will be reviewed by a panel of judges for academics, leadership and extracurricular achievements including fields like visual arts, athletics and community activities. The winners of the award will be notified by the IAKC Academic award selection committee via email.

Awards :  1 male student $1000
                 1 female student $1000

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. The applicant or applicant's parent(s) must be a member of IAKC for the current calendar year.
2. The applicant or applicant’s parent, grand-parent or great grand-parent must be Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizen of India.
3. The applicant must be a Senior High School student in the local Kansas City
   metro School.
4. The applicant must have a strong record of Academic standing with a good
   Grade Point Average (GPA)
5. The applicant must demonstrate good leadership qualities with high motivation, initiative, integrity and intellectual depth with interest in philanthropy, community services and/or extra-curricular activities.
6. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or mentor who can attest to the applicant’s academic prowess and character. The completed
   recommendation form can be emailed to academic@iakc.org. The last date to receive the recommendation form is Thursday 31st Oct 2024
7. The applicant should NOT have ever received/awarded ANY academic or related recognition from IAKC.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. Complete the form below and e-mail the completed form to academic@iakc.org.
2. Ensure that the letter of recommendation has been completed and emailed to academic@iakc.org .
3. Ensure a copy of the current school transcript/report card has been included with the submission of this application form.
