India Fest Performance Registration

We are thrilled to announce the opening of registration for our annual IndiaFest event. IndiaFest serves as a vibrant showcase of the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of India, organized by IAKC. Over the years, this festival has evolved into one of the premier events in the greater Kansas City area, drawing tens of thousands of attendees annually.

IndiaFest is driven by a mission to enrich the community and empower individuals through cultural exchange. We extend a warm invitation to participants, choreographers, and parents to join us in this eagerly anticipated event. It’s an excellent opportunity to display your talents and share the beauty of your culture with the local community.

As always, we anticipate witnessing the remarkable talents of our community members and the innovative performances curated by our talented choreographers. Let’s come together to make this year’s India Fest another unforgettable celebration of diversity and unity.

Cultural Programs

Cultural programs are integrated part of our celebration and we would love to see you participate this year. We request all the choreographers or solo performers to submit their entries.

The last date to submit entries is Friday, June 27, 2025. Please email any accompanying soundtrack including your Performance Name by Friday, July18 to programchair@iakc.org.

We have outlined the following guidelines regarding performance time limits and group sizes:

Rules:

Performance Type | Time Limit (not to exceed)

  • Singing (including classical and semi-classical) | 4 minutes
  • Instrumental (including classical and semi-classical) | 4 minutes
  • Classical/Bollywood Dance | 5 minutes

Please take note of the following points:

  • Solo dance performances will be allocated limited slots and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The minimum age for participation in all categories is 5 years.
  • Soundtracks must be submitted in mp3/mp4 format.

An Enchanting Fashion Walk Celebrating India’s Wedding Traditions

Step into a world where tradition meets timeless elegance, where every veil carries a verse, and every outfit tells a story.

Veils and Verses is a fashion walk honoring the rich and diverse wedding traditions of India. From the intricate zari of a Banarasi bride to the royal turbans of Rajasthan, each step on the runway will echo a heritage rooted in love and ritual.

Who Can Participate?
This event is open to adults aged 18 and above. Participants may walk solo or in pairs, dressed in traditional Indian wedding attire representing any state of India.

Let your attire tell a story. Let your movement bring poetry to life.

IAKC’s Rangoli Competition

Get ready to showcase your artistic skills at IAKC’s Rangoli Competition! This is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to demonstrate their creativity and talent on a grand stage.

Submission Due Date: July 31, 2025

Rules:

  • Age Group: People of all ages are welcome to participate
  • Participation: Individual participation only
  • Competition Rounds: There will be only one round of competition
  • Materials: Participants must bring their own colors. Only rangoli colors are allowed. Accessories like flowers, candles, diyas, etc. are not allowed. Paints, color pens-pencils, crayons, etc. are not allowed.
  • Rangoli Dimensions: Should not exceed 4×4 feet
  • Time Limit: 90 minutes for making the rangoli (no extra time will be given)
  • Timings: Participants must strictly adhere to the given timings

8:00 am – Check-in complete
8:30 am – Competition begins!
10:00 am – Participants should be done by this time
