Someone’s Hero Scholarship

Award amount : USD 500

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. The applicant or applicant’s parent(s) must be a member of IAKC for the current calendar year.
2. The applicant or applicant’s parent, grand-parent or great grand-parent must be Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizen of India.
3. The applicant must be a High School student in the local Kansas City metro
   School.
4. The applicant must demonstrate 1 or more of the following
   a. Evidence of initiating or leading projects, events, or organizations that aim
   to build confidence in others, particularly those less fortunate.
   b. Active participation in community service or volunteer work, with a focus
   on helping underprivileged groups.
   c. Proven record of organizing or participating in events that foster
   empowerment and confidence-building.
5. A letter of recommendation from a friend, teacher, counselor or mentor who can attest to the applicant’s leadership abilities and impact on others. The completed recommendation form can be emailed to someoneshero@iakc.org. The last date
   to receive the recommendation form is Thursday, 31st Oct 2024
6. The applicant should NOT have ever received/awarded ANY academic or related recognition from IAKC.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. Complete the form below and e-mail the completed form to someoneshero@iakc.org.
2. Ensure that the letter of recommendation has been completed and emailed to someoneshero@iakc.org.
